Image Makers Photography Club meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at Community United Church, 250 Brunswick Street, Truro from 7pm - 9pm. This holiday season, the Truro and District Lions Club, in partnership with Operation Kindness, is hosting a free Christmas dinner for approximately 200–250 members of our community who may otherwise spend Christmas without a warm meal or companionship. The Carrolls Corner Fiddle Jams takes place monthly at the Carrolls Corner Community Center at 9 Milford Road in Carrolls Corner running from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  By donation at the door to support the Maritime Fiddle Festival.  Live traditional fiddle music, dancing, and listening. Fiddlers, musicians, dancers, and listeners are all welcome, and attendees often bring a plate of food to share for the community snack table.  Dates:  Oct., 4, Nov, 1 and Dec 6.

Chase the Ace at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, 42  Brunswick Street, Truro. Tickets are being sold from the Wet Canteen/Lounge Bar during normal operations.  Also tickets will be available for sale at the Bingo on Wednesday evening.  The first draw will take place this Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 2:15 pm.  This will continue on a regular basis until someone is lucky enough to draw the Ace of Spades. Tickets are $5.00 each.

Colchester Anti-Poverty Network Re-Launch meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 12 noon to 1pm at the Colchester East Hants Public Library, 754 Prince St, Truro. The meeting purpose is to reconnect community members and organizations interested in poverty reduction in Colchester County, discuss current community needs and explore next steps for rebuilding the network.

Salvation Army Truro Corps are Celebrating their 140th Anniversary from Friday, October 16th to Sunday, October 18th.  Their guest speaker will be Chief Secretary Colonel Margaret McLeod. On Friday evening come for a Gospel Concert at 7:00PM and on Saturday evening there will be a dinner at 6:00PM.
